What MCC Published Today
MCC has added a new document titled:
AIQ and State Schedule Round 2 UG 2026 dated 02.09.2026
This document coordinates the timing of Round 2 between:
- All India Quota
- Deemed Universities
- Central Universities/Institutes
- State/UT counselling authorities
It should be used as the latest national Round 2 coordination timeline.
MCC Round 2 National Timeline
| Activity | AIQ / Deemed / Central | State Counselling |
|---|---|---|
| Round 2 counselling window | 3–11 Sep 2026 | 7–11 Sep 2026 |
| Last date of joining | 18 Sep 2026 | 18 Sep 2026 |
| Joined-candidate data verification | 19 Sep 2026 | 19 Sep 2026 |
| UG academic session commencement | 15 Sep 2026 | 15 Sep 2026 |
MCC has also directed participating institutes/colleges to treat Saturdays, Sundays and Gazetted Holidays as working days because of the compressed counselling timeline.
Important: This Does NOT Open Every State Portal on 7 September
This is one of the most important points for students.
The MCC document gives the national coordination window for State Round 2.
It does not automatically mean that:
- Gujarat registration opens on 7 Sep
- Maharashtra registration opens on 7 Sep
- Karnataka options open on 7 Sep
- UP registration opens on 7 Sep
- Rajasthan registration opens on 7 Sep
- every other State begins the same activity on the same day
Each State/UT counselling authority must issue its own official:
- registration/re-registration notice
- merit-list schedule
- seat matrix
- choice-filling dates
- allotment date
- reporting instructions
Hire Guide Education will continue tracking every State separately.

Does the 2 September Schedule Change the Detailed AIQ Dates?
The newly published 2 September document is primarily a combined AIQ-State coordination schedule.
For MCC AIQ candidates, the detailed 27 August Round 2 timetable still provides the operational registration, payment, choice-filling, locking, result and reporting times.
Therefore HGE should retain:
AIQ Registration: 3–8 Sep
AIQ Choice Filling: 3–9 Sep
AIQ Result: 11 Sep
AIQ Reporting: 12–18 Sep
unless MCC issues another detailed AIQ revision.
Who Needs Fresh MCC Registration?
Round 2 participation rules depend on the candidate's Round 1 status.
Students should check the revised MCC Information Bulletin carefully if they are:
- fresh Round 2 applicants;
- not allotted in Round 1;
- allotted in Round 1 but seeking upgradation;
- candidates who exited Round 1;
- candidates affected by resignation/willingness rules.
Do not assume every Round 1 candidate needs to create an entirely new application.
Fresh Choices Matter in Round 2
Candidates entering Round 2 should prepare their preference order again according to the applicable MCC rules.
Round 2 strategy should use the actual 2026 Round 1 closing ranks, not only previous-year cutoffs.
Analyse separately:
- Government AIQ MBBS
- AIIMS MBBS
- JIPMER MBBS
- Central University seats
- ESIC
- Deemed MBBS
- Government BDS
- Deemed BDS
- applicable NRI seats
These have very different closing-rank behaviour.
Round 2 Seat Matrix Will Be Critical
The effective Round 2 seat pool can change because of:
- unjoined Round 1 seats;
- permitted resignations;
- upgraded candidates;
- newly added seats;
- withdrawn seats;
- institute corrections;
- category/quota corrections.
Therefore students should not simply copy their Round 1 choice list.
The Round 2 seat matrix should be checked before final locking.
State Candidates — Important Warning
Do not read the MCC national State window as proof that your individual State portal is open.
For example, a State may use the 7–11 September coordination period differently for:
- registration
- merit processing
- seat matrix
- choices
- result
Only the individual State counselling authority can confirm those activities.
Hire Guide Education will keep every State/UT dashboard independently updated.
Student Action Checklist
- MCC candidates should prepare for Round 2 registration from 3 September.
- Check your exact Round 1 status before registering.
- Verify whether fresh registration is required in your case.
- Review the Round 2 seat matrix when MCC publishes it.
- Use actual 2026 Round 1 cutoffs for strategy.
- Prepare fresh college preferences carefully.
- Complete payment before the official deadline.
- Do not miss choice locking.
- State candidates must wait for their own State authority's Round 2 notice.
- Do not assume the MCC State coordination calendar activates a State portal.

Hire Guide Education Advice
Round 2 should not be treated as a simple repeat of Round 1.
The strongest strategy now comes from combining:
2026 Round 1 cutoff + Round 2 seat matrix + candidate category/quota + realistic upgrade gap + college preference
For State counselling, always follow the individual State authority even when MCC publishes a common national window.
