Who Can Participate?
The active process applies to eligible successfully verified candidates participating in West Bengal Round-2 MBBS/BDS counselling.
WBMCC counselling includes:
- 85% State Quota seats in Government Medical and Dental Colleges
- State Quota seats in Private Medical Colleges
- Management Quota seats in Private Medical Colleges
- NRI Quota seats in Private Medical Colleges
- State and Management Quota seats in Private Dental Colleges
Eligibility differs by quota. Do not treat State, Management and NRI seats as interchangeable.
What Candidates Should Do Now
- Log in to the official WBMCC counselling portal.
- Review the current Round-2 available colleges/seats.
- Rebuild your preference order using your NEET rank and realistic Round-2 possibilities.
- Keep ambitious upgrades above acceptable current-seat alternatives where counselling rules permit.
- Compare Government, Private State Quota, Management and NRI choices separately.
- Recheck fees, quota eligibility and college type before final submission.
- Complete choice locking before 14 September at 10:00 AM.
- Save/download confirmation wherever available.
Important Choice-Filling Strategy
Do not arrange choices simply by expected cutoff.
Preference order should primarily reflect:
College preference → acceptable fee/quota → realistic admission probability → current seat/upgradation strategy.
A college with a historically easier cutoff should not automatically be placed above a college you genuinely prefer.
Private Medical Colleges
West Bengal private medical colleges can contain materially different seat routes:
- State Quota
- Management Quota
- NRI Quota
Fees and eligibility can differ significantly.
Candidates should verify the exact quota before placing a college in their preference list.
BDS Candidates
BDS choices should be evaluated separately from MBBS.
Do not use MBBS closing ranks to estimate BDS admission probability.
Government Dental, Private State Quota and Private Management seats can show substantially different rank movement.

Hire Guide Education Advice
Do not wait until the final minutes to lock choices.
Round 2 is an important upgrade stage, and preference order can directly determine whether a candidate receives a better college, retains an acceptable option, or misses an available opportunity.
Use data-driven choice filling rather than copying another candidate's list.
