Uttarakhand NEET UG Counselling 2026: Round 1–2 Provisional Admission and Float List Published

What has happened?

Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University (HNBUMU) has published a provisional admitted/float candidate list after NEET UG 2026 Rounds 1 and 2. The official notice is dated 21 September 2026 and says the complete provisional list contains 1,112 candidates after the 19 September admission cut-off. Candidates can check their individual status, allotted college, course, quota, category and round in the official list.

Important distinction: This is a list of candidates, not a new seat matrix or Round 3 allotment. Admission remains provisional subject to the document-verification requirement already notified by HNBUMU.

Who is affected and what to do?

  1. If you joined or retained a float status in Round 1 or 2, locate your record and check the college, course, allotted quota/category and status. Do not assume a 'FLOAT' entry is a new college allotment.
  2. Candidates whose admission used domicile/residence or category/sub-category benefits must keep their original supporting certificates ready for district verification as directed by the university. If you spot a mismatch, contact the official counselling helpdesk; this notice does not provide a fresh objection deadline.
  3. If you are awaiting Round 3, note that the earlier university notice says it will follow document verification. No new Round 3 date is stated in this 21 September list.

Data analysis — read the denominator carefully

Published complete provisional list: 1,112 admitted/float candidate records across the counselling list, as stated in the notice.

State-quota college summary: 778 listed entries across 10 colleges.

  • State-quota admitted: 568
  • State-quota float: 210
  • MBBS institutions in this summary: 8; 529 admitted + 176 float = 705
  • BDS institutions in this summary: 2; 39 admitted + 34 float = 73
  • Limitation: The 10-college *state-quota* summary does not break down the other 334 records in the 1,112-person complete list. Do not label the remainder AIQ or vacancies without a verified matching breakdown.

State-quota status chart (778 listed entries; each block ≈ 30 candidates):

  • Admitted — 568 (73.0%): ███████████████████
  • Float — 210 (27.0%): ███████

The chart counts candidate statuses, not seat vacancies. A float candidate is already in the published provisional list and is not an additional vacant seat.

What this means for strategy

The higher float counts at some colleges show that current candidates may still seek movement, but they do not quantify Round 3 vacancies. Never subtract float candidates from a college's intake to invent vacant seats. The individual PDF contains NEET rank and allotted category, but this admitted/float list alone is not an authority-issued opening/closing cutoff for a new round; do not compare unlike quota, vertical category or Women/PwD subcategory records as one cutoff. Future admission depends on eligible rank, category, quota, choices, verified vacancies and round movement, with no guaranteed seat.
