Telangana NEET UG Counselling 2026 BDS Phase 2 Choice Filling STARTED

🚨 KNRUHS has officially opened Second Phase BDS web options under Competent Authority Quota. Eligible candidates have only until 18 September 2026 at 11:00 AM to submit their dental-college preferences.

Important Deadline

Web Options Started: 16 September 2026 — 2:00 PM

Web Options Close:

18 September 2026 — 11:00 AM

Official Portal: https://tsbdsadm.tsche.in/

Who Can Participate?

KNRUHS has opened the second phase for BDS admissions in:

  • Government Dental Colleges
  • Private Dental Colleges
  • Army College of Dental Sciences, Secunderabad

The counselling is under Competent Authority Quota.

Eligible candidates include those appearing in the final merit list dated 28 August 2026 and subsequent eligible addendums, including applicable:

  • PwD
  • Anglo Indian
  • PMC
  • CAP

categories.

Important Eligibility Restriction

KNRUHS has specifically stated:

Not eligible for Phase 2

Candidates who received a BDS seat in Phase 1 but:

  • did not report, or
  • discontinued the course

are not eligible to exercise Phase 2 web options.

Candidates who did not exercise web options in Phase 1 are also not eligible for Phase 2.

⚠️ This is an important Telangana-specific rule. Do not assume every candidate appearing in the original merit list can newly enter Phase 2 choice filling.

Phase 1 Joined Candidates Can Upgrade

Candidates who:

  • received a BDS seat in Phase 1,
  • joined the allotted college, and
  • are continuing in that course

can participate in Phase 2 for sliding/upgradation.

But there is an important consequence.

🚨 If a candidate receives a new BDS seat in Phase 2, the Phase 1 seat is automatically cancelled and allotted to another candidate.

Therefore, fill only colleges you genuinely prefer over your existing seat.

Official Phase 2 Vacancy Matrix Released

KNRUHS has simultaneously published the detailed BDS vacancy matrix.

The matrix covers vacancies across participating:

  • Government Dental College
  • Army College of Dental Sciences
  • Private Dental Colleges

with category-wise and horizontal/special-category distribution.

The official matrix contains seat positions across categories including:

  • OC
  • SC-1
  • SC-2
  • SC-3
  • ST
  • BC-A
  • BC-B
  • BC-C
  • BC-D
  • BC-E
  • Minority
  • EWS

and applicable female/horizontal/special-category fields.

Important

Do not add every category and special-category cell together and describe that figure as a simple independent-seat total without applying KNRUHS reservation logic.

HGE should preserve the official category structure while converting this matrix for the website.

Do NOT Restrict Choices to Visible Vacancies

This is one of the most important instructions in the KNRUHS notification.

KNRUHS specifically advises candidates to exercise options for all dental colleges they are genuinely interested in, irrespective of the vacancies currently displayed.

Why?

Because vacancies can arise dynamically when Phase 1 joined candidates slide to another college during Phase 2.

Example

Candidate A upgrades:

College X → College Y

The seat at College X becomes available during the counselling process and may be allotted to another candidate.

This creates additional movement beyond the immediately visible vacancy matrix.

No Limit on Number of Choices

KNRUHS confirms that there is no limit on the number of BDS college choices.

Candidates can select every college they genuinely wish to join according to eligibility.

But:

Do not select a college you are unwilling to join.

If a candidate receives a BDS seat according to the submitted choices and then fails to join, the candidate becomes ineligible for subsequent counselling phases.

₹12,000 University Fee

Candidates receiving an allotment must pay:

University Fee: ₹12,000

Payment is made online through the payment gateway before downloading the allotment order.

Private Dental College tuition fee is payable according to the applicable Telangana Government fee order.

Government Dental College tuition fee must be paid according to the college's notified requirements.

Very Important Non-Joining Rule

KNRUHS has a strict seat-blocking rule.

If a candidate:

  1. exercises Phase 2 web options,
  2. receives a BDS seat according to those choices, and
  3. does not join the allotted college,

the candidate will not be permitted to participate in subsequent phases of counselling.

Therefore:

Choice filling is effectively a commitment to join if allotted.

How to Fill Telangana BDS Phase 2 Choices

  1. Visit https://tsbdsadm.tsche.in/
  2. Login using your candidate credentials.
  3. Review your Phase 2 eligibility.
  4. Check the official KNRUHS vacancy matrix.
  5. Prepare your genuine college preference order.
  6. Include colleges you want even if the current vacancy appears zero.
  7. Submit web options in true preference order.
  8. Save the options.
  9. Take a printout of the saved choices.

KNRUHS sends a six-letter OTP/code to the registered mobile number during the option process.

Choice Filling Strategy

For Phase 2, don't simply sort colleges by current vacancy count.

Use:

NEET AIR + Telangana Merit Position + Category + Phase 1 BDS Cutoff + College Preference + Current Vacancy + Expected Sliding + Fee

Create your choices in genuine order:

Dream

Higher-preference colleges where sliding could create an opportunity.

Possible

Colleges around your current rank/category range.

Safe

Realistic colleges where Phase 1 movement and Phase 2 vacancies provide stronger possibilities.

MBBS and BDS Must Remain Separate

Telangana MBBS and BDS are currently not at the same counselling stage.

MBBS Phase 2 allotment has already been released and allotted candidates are in the reporting process.

BDS is now at:

Phase 2 Choice Filling

Therefore, HGE should maintain separate dashboard stages for:

Telangana MBBS — Phase 2 Reporting

and

Telangana BDS — Phase 2 Choice Filling

Never display one common Telangana stage for both courses while these processes differ.

What Students Should Do Today

  1. Confirm that you are eligible for BDS Phase 2.
  2. Download the official vacancy matrix.
  3. Compare your rank/category with Phase 1 allotment movement.
  4. Prepare your college preference list.
  5. Consider potential sliding vacancies.
  6. Submit all genuine choices.
  7. Save and print your submitted options.

🚨 Do not wait until tomorrow morning. Web options close at 11:00 AM on 18 September 2026.
