Odisha’s PG Medical Counselling Committee (PGMCC) has issued a notice dated 3 November 2026 stating that the upgraded Round 1 allotment process mentioned in Notification No. 53 dated 27 October 2026 “shall not be taken up now.” Candidates must instead attend the provisional admission process according to the normal Round 1 allotment.

Who is affected
This change applies to candidates participating in Odisha PG Medical Round 1 counselling for MD/MS, Post-MBBS DNB and Post-MBBS NBEMS Diploma courses. It particularly affects candidates who expected a separate upgraded Round 1 allotment after the normal Round 1 admission period.
What this means for your rank, branch and category
No fresh seat or merit change is published in this notice. The notice does not revise the Round 1 seat matrix, merit list, rank, category or quota.
Your locked Round 1 choices remain the basis for the normal allotment. Do not assume there will be a second opportunity within Round 1 to move to a higher preference.
Branch and college strategy: ensure your choice order reflects your true preference before the 3 November 2026, 11.55 PM choice-filling and locking deadline. The authority has not announced a replacement upgrade process.
Candidate action checklist
Complete and lock Round 1 choices by 3 November 2026, 11.55 PM if you have not already done so.
Check the Odisha PGMCC portal from 5 November 2026, 10 AM onwards for the normal Round 1 allotment-cum-admission letter.
If allotted, follow the provisional admission and reporting process on 6 or 7 November 2026 between 10 AM and 5 PM.
Do not wait for the earlier 8–10 November upgraded Round 1 steps; the authority says they will not be taken up now.
Use only the official PGMCC portal for any subsequent order or replacement schedule.
