The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, has officially announced an Urgent Extension Notice for candidates seeking admission under the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) quota in Round 3 of NEET UG Counselling 2026.
To ensure that no disabled candidate is deprived of their statutory 5% horizontal reservation due to assessment delays, MCC has extended the operations of both Primary Medical Assessment Boards and Appellate Medical Boards across designated disability screening centers nationwide.

4. Key Rules Regarding PwD Certificates in MCC Admissions
Mandatory Portal Generation: No offline certificate, state disability card, or UDID card is valid on its own for seat allotment. The examining board must generate the certificate directly through the MCC intranet software.
Eligibility Benchmark: Only candidates with benchmark disability of 40% or more (as per NMC guidelines) who are declared eligible to pursue medical courses can claim PwD reservation.
Immediate Integration with Choice Locking: As soon as the designated center uploads the assessment result, the candidate's portal status automatically reflects PwD verification, unlocking horizontal reservation choices.
