The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), has officially notified the medical assessment schedule for candidates claiming reservation under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category for NEET PG 2026 Round 1 Counselling.

According to MCC Public Notice Ref. No. U-12021/09/2026-MEC, the dedicated PwD Assessment Portal will become operational on 1 October 2026. Eligible candidates seeking to avail themselves of the 5% horizontal PwD reservation across 50% All India Quota (AIQ), Central Universities, Deemed Universities, and DNB broad specialty seats must physically visit one of the 16 designated Disability Assessment Centres to obtain a mandatory digital disability certificate.

2. Why Offline Disability Certificates Are Invalid

  1. Mandatory Portal Generation: Disability certificates must be generated online through the designated MCC portal interface by the authorized medical specialists at the 16 designated centres.

  2. QR Code Verification: All authentic certificates feature a secure QR code and unique alphanumeric identification number tied to the candidate's NEET PG roll number.

  3. Strict NMC Benchmark Criteria: Assessment boards evaluate candidates strictly in accordance with the National Medical Commission (NMC) PwBD Guidelines issued on 16 September 2026.

  4. Eligibility Thresholds:

    • Eligible for PwD Reservation: Benchmark disability between 40% and 80%.

    • Eligible for Medical Course without PwD Reservation: Disability less than 40%.

    • Not Eligible for Medical Course: Disability greater than 80% (or specific non-permitted functional deficits as defined in NMC guidelines).

4. Candidate Action Checklist for Medical Assessment

  • Carry Original Identification: Government-issued Photo ID along with the NEET PG 2026 Admit Card and newly downloaded Scorecard.

  • Medical Treatment History: Prior surgical discharge summaries, radiological records (X-rays, CT/MRI scans), audiograms (for hearing impairment), visual acuity reports, and original disability certificates issued by district civil surgeons.

  • Assistive Devices: Candidates using Low Vision Aids (LVAs), hearing aids, prosthetic limbs, or orthotic braces must carry their personal devices to the board examination.
