📋 Round 2 Choice Filling — Information Published
What Changed in This Revision?
ACPUGMEC had published another revised merit set on:
7 September 2026 — 2:50 PM
At that stage, both:
- NRI verification
- PwD verification
were still in progress.
In the newer update dated:
8 September 2026 — 12:45 PM
the authority has now added:
- NRI Merit List
- NRI Report
This means the NRI verification process has progressed enough for ACPUGMEC to publish the NRI merit dataset for Round 2.
PwD Merit Is Still Pending
ACPUGMEC specifically states that verification of candidates who applied under the:
PwD Quota
is still going on.
Therefore:
PwD-category merit will be declared separately in due course.
PwD candidates should not assume that their category-specific merit is final merely because the General/SC/ST/SEBC/EWS lists have been revised.
Round 2 Merit Lists Now Available
ACPUGMEC currently provides:
Main Vertical Categories
- General / Open
- SC
- ST
- SEBC
- EWS
Quota / Institutional Lists
- NRI Merit List
- NRI Report
- NHL Local Quota Candidate List
- SMC Local Quota Candidate List
Eligibility Audit
- Not Eligible Candidate List with Reasons
Still Pending
- PwD-specific merit after completion of verification
Important Data-Mapping Rule for HGE
Do not merge all these fields into a single category.
Correct website normalisation should be:
Vertical Category
- OPEN / GENERAL
- SC
- ST
- SEBC
- EWS
Quota
- Government Quota
- Management Quota
- NRI Quota
- NHL Local Quota
- SMC Local Quota
Horizontal Category
- PwD
Important
NRI = Quota
not vertical reservation category.
PwD = Horizontal reservation / special eligibility
not an independent standard vertical category.
NRI Candidates — What Changes Now?
The major practical change in this revision is publication of the:
NRI Merit List
NRI candidates should now:
- Check whether their name appears.
- Verify their merit position.
- Confirm that their NRI eligibility details are correct.
- Review colleges offering NRI seats.
- Check the applicable NRI tuition fee.
- Keep all original NRI supporting documents ready.
- Fill choices according to genuine preference and affordability.
Round 2 Seat Pool Has Also Increased
Gujarat has separately announced an important MBBS seat addition for Round 2.
NMC approved an increase of:
50 MBBS seats
at:
Ananya College of Medicine & Research, Kalol, Gandhinagar
College Code:
ANAMED
The intake rises:
150 → 200 MBBS seats
The additional 50 seats are distributed as:
| Quota | Added Seats |
|---|---|
| Government Quota | 38 |
| Management Quota | 5 |
| NRI Quota | 7 |
| Total | 50 |
These seats will be included in the Second Round MBBS/BDS admission process.
Why These 50 Seats Matter
This is not merely an increase in sanctioned intake for a future round.
ACPUGMEC explicitly states that the additional seats:
will be included in Round 2
Therefore the additional pool can directly affect:
- Round 2 MBBS availability
- Government Quota movement
- Management Quota movement
- NRI availability
- Ananya College closing rank
- nearby private-college preference behaviour
Reservation Conversion Rules Matter in Round 2
ACPUGMEC also states that vacant reserved seats can be converted during the second round according to the applicable rules.
Examples published by the authority include:
- NRI → Management
- SC → Open
- ST → Open
- SEBC → Open
- EWS → Open
- PwD → respective parent category
This means the final Round 2 seat pool can differ from the initial category-wise vacancy position.
NRI Vacancy Conversion
ACPUGMEC specifically states that if NRI seats remain vacant:
they will be filled as Management Quota seats with Management Quota fees
subject to the authority's rules.
For GMERS colleges and Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhuj, which have NRI seats but no normal Management seats, the authority similarly states that vacant NRI seats will be filled under the Management route with the applicable Management fee.
This conversion should be captured carefully in HGE's cutoff analysis.
Merit List Does Not Equal Admission Cutoff
Students should not confuse:
Merit Rank
with:
College Closing Rank / Admission Cutoff
The merit list establishes the candidate's counselling position.
Actual admission opportunity depends on:
- merit rank
- category
- quota
- seat availability
- choice order
- reservation conversion
- candidate upgrades
- newly added seats
- college preference
The real Round 2 admission cutoff can only be derived after the allotment result.
HGE Round 2 Result Analysis Requirement
When ACPUGMEC publishes the Round 2 allotment result, Hire Guide Education should separately analyse:
Government MBBS
- college-wise opening merit
- closing merit
- OPEN
- EWS
- SEBC
- SC
- ST
- PwD where applicable
Management MBBS
- college-wise closing merit
- NRI-to-Management conversions
- Round 1 → Round 2 movement
NRI MBBS
- college-wise NRI closing merit
- seats filled
- seats converted to Management
BDS
- Government
- Management
- NRI where applicable
- category-wise movement
Local Quotas
- NHL Local
- SMC Local
Do not combine these into one Gujarat cutoff.

Hire Guide Education Analysis
The most important change from the previous Gujarat merit revision is:
NRI Merit is now published.
The remaining incomplete merit component is:
PwD Category Merit
because ACPUGMEC says PwD verification is still underway.
At the same time, Round 2 receives 50 additional MBBS seats at Ananya College, split into:
38 GQ + 5 MQ + 7 NRI.
Candidates should therefore use the latest revised merit position together with the updated Round 2 seat pool—not Round 1 data alone—when finalising their strategy.
