Andhra Pradesh NEET UG Counselling 2026 Phase 2 MBBS Choice Filling STARTED

🚨 Dr NTRUHS has opened Phase 2 MBBS web options under Competent Authority Quota. Eligible candidates must submit their college preferences before 18 September 2026 at 10:00 AM.

Important Dates

Web Options Open: 16 September 2026 — 10:00 AM

Last Date & Time: 18 September 2026 — 10:00 AM

Phase 2 Allotment: 21 September 2026

Who Can Participate?

Phase 2 covers available MBBS Competent Authority Quota seats arising from:

  • Unfilled Phase 1 seats
  • Candidates who did not join
  • Vacancies created through Phase 1 Free Exit
  • Virtual vacancies created through upgradation

The counselling covers participating:

  • Government Medical Colleges
  • Private Unaided Non-Minority Medical Colleges
  • Minority Medical Colleges
  • Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women, Tirupati

Very Important for Phase 1 Joined Candidates

Candidates who joined their Phase 1 allotted college can participate for upgradation.

However, Dr NTRUHS advises them to select only colleges they genuinely consider better than their currently joined college.

Their currently reported college remains the last/default option.

⚠️ If you are upgraded in Phase 2, your Phase 1 joined seat is automatically cancelled. You cannot claim the old seat again.

Therefore, do not place a college above your current seat unless you are genuinely willing to join it.

Fresh Web Options Are Important

Candidates who joined Phase 1 but do not submit fresh web options will not be considered for normal college upgradation in Phase 2.

They may only be considered for applicable default sliding of the seat category within the same college.

So students seeking a better medical college should not assume their previous choices will automatically work for Phase 2.

Candidates Who Did Not Get Any Seat in Phase 1

Candidates who:

  • Were not allotted a seat in Phase 1, or
  • Did not exercise web options during Phase 1

are also eligible to participate in Phase 2, subject to the official eligibility rules.

There is no limit on the number of web options.

Dr NTRUHS specifically advises candidates to exercise options for all colleges they genuinely wish to join, in correct priority order, irrespective of the displayed vacancy position.

Important Free Exit Rule

🚨 Candidates who availed the official Free Exit facility after Phase 1 are NOT eligible for Phase 2 or subsequent phases of counselling.

Do not confuse:

Not Allotted / Not Exercised Options

with

Availed Free Exit

Their Phase 2 eligibility is different.

Virtual Vacancy — Why You Should Not Judge Only From Current Vacancy

A major strategic point in this round is virtual vacancy movement.

When a Phase 1 joined candidate upgrades to another college:

  1. Their old seat becomes vacant.
  2. That seat enters the allotment process simultaneously.
  3. It can be allotted to the next eligible candidate according to merit and choices.

This means a college showing little or no obvious vacancy can still become available through upgradation movement.

Do not restrict your choices only to currently visible vacancies.

Minority Medical College Rule

Competent Authority Quota seats in Minority Medical Colleges are allotted to Muslim Minority candidates only.

Muslim Minority candidates can also compete for eligible Competent Authority Quota seats in other medical colleges.

Special Categories

Seats under:

  • NCC
  • Sports & Games

will be filled after receipt of the final prioritised merit lists from the respective competent authorities.

Candidates should continue monitoring the official website for these lists.

How to Fill AP MBBS Phase 2 Choices

  1. Open the official Phase 2 web-options portal.
  2. Login using your candidate credentials.
  3. Review your eligibility.
  4. Check the available colleges.
  5. Arrange colleges strictly in your genuine preference order.
  6. Include all colleges you are actually willing to join.
  7. Review the entire priority list carefully.
  8. Submit the options.
  9. Save/print the submitted option list.

An OTP is sent to the registered mobile/email during the web-options process.

⚠️ Once submitted, web options are final. Dr NTRUHS will not accept requests to change the options or their priority after closure.

Choice Filling Strategy

Do not prepare Phase 2 choices simply by looking at the vacancy matrix.

A better strategy is:

NEET AIR + Category + 2026 Phase 1 Cutoff + Current Vacancy + Virtual Vacancy + College Preference + Fee + Upgradation Risk

Arrange choices in your true preference order.

For a Phase 1 joined candidate:

Put only genuinely better colleges above your existing seat.

For a candidate without a seat:

Use a broader list containing Safe + Possible + Dream options.

University Fee

The official notification specifies:

University Fee: ₹12,600

Selected candidates must pay the fee online to download their allotment order.

Candidates who already paid the University Fee and downloaded their Phase 1 allotment order do not need to pay it again.

If their college or seat category changes, however, they must download the fresh allotment order.

What Happens After Phase 2?

Allotment Release: 21 September 2026

Candidates receiving a seat must:

  • Download the provisional allotment order
  • Pay the applicable University Fee if not already paid
  • Report to the allotted college within the deadline specified in the allotment order
  • Carry original certificates
  • Complete admission formalities

Original certificates will be verified at the allotted college.

Important Non-Reporting Rule

If a candidate receives a Phase 2 seat but does not join/report, that candidate will not be eligible to select that non-reported college again in subsequent phases.

Candidates who join Phase 2 remain eligible for upgradation/sliding to a better college up to Phase 3 (Mop-Up) as per the official notification.

Hire Guide Education Advice

Phase 2 is where smart choice ordering becomes extremely important because actual vacancies and virtual vacancies move simultaneously.

Do not fill choices simply by copying last year's closing ranks.

Use:

2026 Phase 1 actual allotment + category + quota + current vacancy + virtual vacancy potential + college fees + your NEET AIR

Hire Guide Education uses data-driven counselling strategy to identify Safe, Possible and Dream choices and the strongest realistic admission possibilities.
