Tamil Nadu expressly states that it will retain its existing policy and that State Government, Management, Minority and NRI admissions remain governed by State prospectuses and Government Orders.

MCC Freeze/Float Rules Do Not Automatically Apply to Tamil Nadu

⚠️ Tamil Nadu will retain its existing State counselling policy for 2026–27.

MCC’s new AIQ system includes:

  • Freeze and Float
  • Online verification for MCC Float candidates
  • MCC digital seat-surrender workflow

Tamil Nadu has clarified that its own State procedures will continue.

Tamil Nadu Rules

  • Uploaded certificates are scrutinised centrally during application.
  • Physical original-document verification occurs at the allotted institution during admission.
  • Permitted resignations must be submitted through the Tamil Nadu online portal.
  • Offline resignations are prohibited.
  • Upgradation from Round 1 to Round 2 and Round 2 to Round 3 will follow the Tamil Nadu prospectuses.
  • Government, Management, Minority and NRI seats remain governed by Tamil Nadu Government Orders and State prospectuses.

Remove any guidance saying:

MCC Float online provisional joining automatically applies to Tamil Nadu State counselling.

The MCC process applies to MCC routes. Tamil Nadu candidates must follow the State prospectus separately.
