Odisha NEET UG 2026 candidates who are eligible for both Gen-EWS and Odisha State SEBC must choose only ONE category during MBBS/BDS State counselling registration.

What Has OJEE Clarified?

OJEE has issued Notice No. OJEE/0401 dated 08.08.2026 regarding category claims for Odisha State Medical Counselling.

The clarification applies to candidates who:

• Applied under Gen-EWS during the original NEET UG application process, and
• Also possess a valid SEBC certificate issued by the competent authority of Government of Odisha.

Such candidates cannot claim both reservation categories simultaneously.

You Must Select Only One Category

Eligible candidates must choose:

Gen-EWS

OR

Odisha State SEBC

during OJEE State counselling registration.

⚠️ You cannot claim both Gen-EWS and SEBC benefits simultaneously.

The selected category will be used for:

• State Merit List generation
• Reservation eligibility
• MBBS/BDS seat allotment

Category Selection Is Final

OJEE has clearly stated that the category selected during registration will be treated as final.

No later request for category change will be accepted.

This makes category selection an important counselling decision.

SEBC Candidates — Certificate Requirement

Candidates choosing SEBC must upload/produce a:

Valid and genuine SEBC certificate issued by the competent authority of the Government of Odisha.

Do not choose SEBC unless you have the required valid State certificate.

Round 1 registration and document upload are currently open.

Registration Started: 6 August 2026 — 5:00 PM

Last Date: 10 August 2026 — 11:59 PM

Registration is required for preparation of the Odisha State Merit List.

Who Is Eligible?

For Odisha State Quota MBBS/BDS seats, OJEE states that eligible Odisha State candidates must register through the State counselling portal.

Outside-State NEET UG 2026 candidates may participate only for applicable NRI seats, subject to OJEE eligibility rules.

2. Check your category eligibility carefully.
3. If eligible for both Gen-EWS and SEBC, decide which one category you want to claim.

6. Recheck your final category before submitting.
7. Complete registration before 10 August at 11:59 PM.
8. Save the final application and payment acknowledgement.
