MCC NEET PG 2026 Round 1 Choice Filling Resumed; Institutes Told to Verify Seat Matrix
Verified official update dated 15 October 2026
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has stated on its official PG counselling page that Round 1 choice filling has resumed. MCC has also issued a formal advisory directing all participating institutes, colleges and hospitals to verify the course-wise seat counts shown in the NEET PG 2026 seat matrix.
Any discrepancy found by an institution must be brought to MCC’s notice before completion of the Round 1 choice-filling schedule. Under MCC’s published schedule, choice filling closes at 10:00 AM on 22 October 2026, based on server time.
Doctor action: resume or update your choices through the official portal, re-check the latest seat matrix and your saved preference order, and avoid locking based only on an earlier screenshot or downloaded matrix. If MCC publishes a corrected matrix, review every affected institute–speciality choice before final locking.
What MCC has changed
MCC’s live PG page now says that Round 1 choice filling has resumed.
MCC has asked every participating institute, college and hospital to verify the number of seats available in each PG course.
Institutions must report discrepancies before the Round 1 choice-filling window is completed.
What has not changed in this notice
The advisory does not publish a new seat total, identify a particular added or withdrawn seat, revise the Round 1 schedule, or change eligibility, fees, stipend, bond, security-deposit, reporting or resignation rules. A permission or accreditation entry should not be treated as an available counselling seat unless it appears in MCC’s live/final seat matrix.

Seat, branch and quota interpretation
This notice is a verification control, not a seat-addition order. It applies across the PG courses shown in MCC’s published AIQ, Deemed/Central, Central Internal Quota and DNB matrices. Because the notice contains no institute-wise corrections, HGE is not changing college, hospital, branch, quota or category totals solely on the basis of this advisory.
Fees, stipend and bond interpretation
No fee, stipend or bond value has changed through this notice. Candidates should continue to verify these items from the relevant institute or competent authority before placing a choice. Do not infer financial terms from the seat matrix alone.
How doctors should act
Open only the official MCC candidate portal and confirm that your saved choices are visible.
Re-download or re-open the current official matrix instead of using an older copy.
Check institute, course, quota and category together. Similar college or hospital names can map to different quotas or fee structures.
Keep choices in your genuine preference order. Weigh branch fit, training environment, hands-on exposure, case mix, fees, stipend, bond, location and future plans—not prestige alone.
Review again before locking. The counselling outcome depends on AIR, category, quota, eligibility, choice order, available seats and round movement; no choice list can guarantee admission.
Who is affected
All candidates participating in MCC NEET PG 2026 Round 1 may be affected if a course-wise seat discrepancy is corrected. The institutional obligation applies to every participating institute, college and hospital covered by MCC’s PG matrices.

Important limitation
This alert reports the official status available on 15 October 2026. MCC may publish a corrected matrix or a further notice. If a matrix changes, compare the affected institute–speciality–quota–category rows rather than assuming every seat or preference has changed.
HGE guidance: use the remaining window to verify, compare and order choices carefully. Keep evidence of your final submitted choices and locking status.
