Current Status — Seat Matrix Awaited Today

The official Maharashtra CAP Round 2 notice schedules publication of the MBBS/BDS Round 2 seat matrix for:

7 September 2026

At the latest early-morning official check, the actual Round 2 seat-matrix file was not yet visible through the indexed Maharashtra medical counselling pages.

Therefore the correct HGE status is:

Seat Matrix — Due Today / Awaited

Do not mark the matrix as published until the official file becomes available.

CAP Round 2 Choice Filling

Online Choice / Preference Form filling is scheduled from:

8 September 2026

to

10 September 2026 — up to 11:59 PM

Candidates should prepare their preference order today after reviewing the official Round 2 vacancy matrix.

Do not wait until the last hours of 10 September.

Round 2 Selection List

Maharashtra CET Cell schedules the:

CAP Round 2 Selection List

for:

12 September 2026

Once published, Hire Guide Education should perform a full allotment/cutoff analysis rather than only posting a result notice.

The analysis should cover:

  • Government MBBS
  • Corporation MBBS
  • Private MBBS
  • Minority MBBS
  • Institutional/NRI where applicable
  • Government BDS
  • Private BDS
  • category-wise opening/closing ranks
  • quota-wise closing ranks
  • college-wise movement
  • Round 1 → Round 2 upgrades
  • newly vacant seats

Physical Joining Schedule

Candidates allotted a seat in CAP Round 2 must physically join the allotted college during:

13 September → 18 September 2026

The official schedule specifically excludes:

14 September 2026

Candidates should therefore not assume admission/reporting will be available on 14 September.

Original Documents & Fee

Allotted candidates must report with:

  • required original documents; and
  • prescribed college/admission fee.

The official notice refers to fee payment through the prescribed DD/Cheque mechanism during physical joining.

Candidates should check the exact allotted-college fee before reporting.

Important Bank-Holiday Fee Rule

The CAP Round 2 notice provides that where a bank holiday affects preparation of the required Demand Draft, the candidate may submit a cheque as permitted and replace it with the required DD on the next working day.

Failure to replace the payment instrument as prescribed can affect admission.

Candidates should follow the exact instructions issued by the allotted college/CET Cell.

Seat Matrix — HGE Data Extraction Priority

Today's Round 2 seat matrix is a high-priority HGE data source.

As soon as it is published, extract:

  • college
  • course
  • ownership
  • quota
  • vertical category
  • PwD
  • Women
  • Minority
  • Institutional
  • NRI where applicable
  • total available seats
  • college code
  • state code
  • physical vacancy
  • any newly added seats

Keep MBBS and BDS separate.

Maharashtra Category Mapping Reminder

HGE should preserve the Maharashtra reservation structure rather than over-normalising it.

Vertical categories should retain the officially notified Maharashtra classification where required.

Horizontal dimensions such as:

  • PwD
  • Women
  • Defence
  • Orphan

should remain separately mapped according to HGE global-option rules.

Institutional Quota should be stored as:

Quota = IQ

and not as a candidate category.

Choice Filling Strategy

Candidates should arrange choices in genuine preference order.

Consider:

  1. Government vs Private
  2. MBBS vs BDS
  3. college location
  4. tuition fee
  5. hostel/other fees
  6. bond/service requirement
  7. clinical exposure
  8. minority eligibility
  9. institutional/NRI eligibility
  10. current Round 1 seat, if seeking upgradation

Do not order colleges only according to predicted cutoff.

Round 1 Candidates Seeking Upgrade

Candidates already holding a Round 1 seat should carefully review the applicable Round 2 rules before placing higher preferences.

Any option placed above the existing seat should represent a college/course the candidate genuinely prefers.

Do not fill unwanted colleges merely because their cutoff appears achievable.

Student Action Checklist

  1. Check Maharashtra CET Cell today for the Round 2 seat matrix.
  2. Compare MBBS and BDS vacancies separately.
  3. Check Government/Private/Minority/Institutional availability.
