Bihar NEET PG Counselling 2026: Your PGMAC Roadmap

Your rank earned you a place in the race but state counselling decides your final destination. In case of Bihar state, it has its own name, board, and procedure. When you look up Bihar NEET PG Counselling, you see pgmac everywhere. pgmac stands for Post Graduate Medical Admission Counselling, and it is run by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB). What is Bihar PG Medical Counselling?

The Bihar PG medical admissions counselling process is run by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) and is for MD/MS/PG Diploma as well as DNB courses offered by medical colleges in the state of Bihar (both Government and Private). Status of Bihar NEET PG 2026 Counselling

On 12 October 2026, the board's homepage published details of various PG programs including PGDAC, UGMAC and UG AYUSH and PG Pharmacy Programs. PGMAC-2 program details were not published. So we cannot give the exact dates of registration and choice filling of Bihar NEET PG 2026. Do not believe any website that quotes any registration or choice filling dates prior to the board making any official announcement. Visit the board website for the latest updates.

Lessons from the 2025 Cycle

The previous full cycle is the best guide. The board’s records of PGMAC-2025 show a process of Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and a Stray Vacancy Round, with the Stray Round notice dated 22 February 2026. Two incidents were noteworthy. It so happened that Round 2 result was published but the Board later withdrew the first list and re-published a result of corrected list. Careers360 reported this was due to an error on the part

of the Board. Due to the All India Quota Round 3 being delayed, Round 3 was also postponed. Both incidents indicate the need to be ready for unexpected changes in the state counseling process and the need to have a Plan B in your state counseling process.

Eligibility, Documents and Process

Who Can Apply?

Only those aspirants who have cleared NEET PG 2026 and are eligible in accordance with the PGMAC prospectus are eligible to apply. In case of state quota seats, the candidate needs to be a resident of Bihar as per Careers360. However, the final word is in the PGMAC Prospectus.

Registration and Choice Filling

You will have to register yourself on the PGMAC website and fill in your NEET PG details to become eligible for online registration for PGMAC counseling.

After filling the application, upload the relevant documents.

Pay the counselling fee and security deposit.

Your rank will be published. Check it to see if you need to make changes to your preferences.

Fill in and lock the preferences for your college and course choices.

Report to the college of your choice after allotment.

The security deposit is refunded. Keep the amounts mentioned in the notice in the current prospectus to confirm you pay the right fee.

Plan for how many rounds of counselling you'll need to apply for, plus a stray vacancy round, in reference to the 2025 cycle. Rules for withdrawal and upgrade can change round to round so read each notice carefully.

Understand the Seat Matrix for PG in Bihar

The Seat Matrix is released before choice filling and is updated for later rounds. The latest version is always to be worked from. The PG seat you finally get, depends on the rank, category and the number of seats left in each round.

PAST YEARS ARE EXAMPLES, NOT RULES

While many candidates look for dates and rules for Bihar NEET PG Counselling 2025/2024/2023, the results page published by the board mentions PGMAC allotments for 2023/2024/2025, which are good examples to gauge the movement in closing ranks. Older years such as 2021 and 2022 are largely irrelevant at this point of time. While analyzing older years is a good way to gauge the trend, future prospectuses should be referred for rules.
