Round 2 Choice Filling Schedule

Choice filling is scheduled from:

Candidates must fill and lock their choices within the prescribed window.

Failure to lock choices can exclude the candidate from the seat-allocation process under the published Round 2 instructions.

Who Should Act Today?

Priority action is required from:

• Fresh Round 2 registrants
• Candidates with pending registration
• Candidates with pending registration-fee payment
• Candidates with pending security-money payment
• Eligible candidates preparing for Round 2 choice filling

Candidates whose required registration/security formalities were already completed should prepare their Round 2 preference order before choice filling opens.

Clear Vacancy + SAC Seats

UP Round 2 uses two important vacancy concepts:

Clear Vacancies

Seats remaining because of vacancy, non-reporting or resignation after Round 1.

Seat Against Cancellation — SAC

SAC is effectively a virtual vacancy.

If an already-admitted candidate upgrades during Round 2, the earlier occupied seat can become available to another candidate according to merit and choices.

📌 Therefore, Round 2 possibilities should not be estimated only from immediately visible clear vacancies.

Fresh Choice Filling Is Critical

Candidates should fill colleges strictly according to genuine preference.

There is no benefit in placing a lower-preference college above a college you actually want more.

for preference planning.

Government & Private Seats Must Be Analysed Separately

Do not use one generic “UP MBBS cutoff”.

• Government BDS
• Private MBBS
• Private BDS
• Minority seats where applicable
• Category/reservation eligibility

Private-college strategy must additionally consider tuition fee and security requirements.

Important Round 2 Consequence

Candidates allotted a seat in Round 2 who fail to complete admission can face forfeiture of the applicable security deposit under the published counselling instructions.

10. Lock choices before 19 September, 5:00 PM.
