MCC Dashboard Has Changed Again

The correct Round 2 status is now:

Registration — CLOSED

Payment — ACTIVE till 6 PM

Choice Filling — ACTIVE

Choice Locking — ACTIVE

Candidates should no longer see Choice Locking as “Upcoming”.

Final Deadline Is Tomorrow Morning

Both Choice Filling and Choice Locking close:

9 September 2026 — 10:00 AM

This is a morning deadline.

Do not plan to edit or lock choices tomorrow afternoon or evening.

Payment Deadline Is Earlier

Registered candidates whose applicable payment is still pending have only until:

8 September — 6:00 PM

Payment and Choice Filling are separate stages.

Do not assume the 9 September Choice Filling deadline also applies to payment.

Before Locking — Check All 3 Round 2 Seat Datasets

MCC has already published:

  1. Clear Vacancy
  2. Virtual Vacancy
  3. Newly Added Seats

Candidates should review all three before final locking.

Clear Vacancy

Seats definitely available entering Round 2.

Virtual Vacancy

Seats currently held by Round 1 candidates participating for upgradation.

These seats become actually available only when the existing candidate upgrades.

Newly Added Seats

Fresh seats incorporated into the Round 2 seat pool.

Do not prepare choices using only one vacancy PDF.

Choice Order Strategy

The best principle is:

True Preference Order

not:

Previous Cutoff Order

If you genuinely prefer College A over College B, place College A above College B even if its previous closing rank is more competitive.

MCC allotment evaluates available seats against your merit, eligibility, reservation and submitted preference order.

AIIMS Candidates

Keep genuine preferred AIIMS options in your actual order.

Do not delete a preferred AIIMS simply because its Round 1 closing rank was stronger than your AIR.

Round 2 movement can arise from:

  • upgrades
  • resignations
  • virtual vacancy conversion
  • newly added seats
  • changed candidate preferences

Government MBBS/BDS Candidates

Check:

  • college preference
  • category
  • quota
  • location
  • Round 1 cutoff
  • current vacancy type

Do not judge opportunity from overall seat totals alone.

Deemed University Candidates

Before locking a Deemed University choice, verify:

  • annual tuition fee
  • hostel fee
  • security deposit
  • other charges
  • location
  • willingness to join

A reachable rank is not enough reason to keep an unaffordable college high in the list.

Central Institute / Institutional Quotas

Keep eligibility-specific routes separately in mind for:

  • JIPMER
  • ESIC
  • Central Universities/Institutes
  • institutional quotas where applicable

Do not assume every MCC candidate is eligible for every seat appearing in the matrix.

Locking Checklist

Before clicking final lock:

  1. Verify every college name.
  2. Verify course — MBBS vs BDS.
  3. Verify quota.
  4. Verify category eligibility.
  5. Verify college fees.
  6. Remove colleges you would never join.
  7. Keep aspirational colleges above realistic ones when genuinely preferred.
  8. Keep enough acceptable backup choices.
  9. Recheck Deemed University fees.
  10. Save/download final locked-choice proof.

Important — Locking Too Early vs Too Late

You can use the remaining window to refine your preferences.

But do not leave locking until the final minutes before:

9 September — 10 AM

Portal congestion, login problems or connectivity failure near the deadline can create unnecessary risk.
