MCC NEET UG 2026 Round 1 Provisional Result Out

MCC has released the NEET UG 2026 Round 1 provisional seat allotment result for MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing counselling.

How HGE Calculated These Cutoffs

The MCC result provides:

• NEET All India Rank
• Allotted Quota
• Allotted Institute
• Course
• Allotted Seat Category
• Candidate Category
• Allotment status

For cutoff analysis, HGE has used the Allotted Seat Category.

This is important because an OBC/SC/EWS candidate can win an Open seat on merit. Such a seat must be counted under the Open cutoff, not under the candidate's personal category.

PwD-linked allotments have also been separated from normal category closing ranks because PwD is a horizontal reservation and its AIR can be substantially different.

These are Round 1 admission/allotment cutoffs — NOT the NEET qualifying cutoff.

1. Government Medical Colleges — 15% AIQ MBBS Analysis

The official MCC result contains 9,177 MBBS allotments under the “All India” quota.

Of these:

• 8,741 are standard non-PwD category allotments
• 436 are PwD-linked allotments

Government AIQ Round 1 Category-Wise Range

What does this mean?

For standard 15% AIQ Government MBBS seats in Round 1:

• Open seats reached approximately AIR 22.3K
• OBC reached approximately 23.1K
• EWS reached approximately 27.2K
• SC reached approximately 1.05 lakh
• ST reached approximately 1.32 lakh

These are the last observed Round 1 allotments across the entire AIQ Government college pool, not the cutoff of one specific college.

A top Government medical college will close much earlier.

Popular Government Medical Colleges — Open Category Round 1 Closing AIR

The final Open AIQ MBBS allotment in this provisional dataset extends to approximately AIR 22,342.

2. AIIMS MBBS Round 1 — Complete Category Analysis

HGE identified 2,350 MBBS allotments to AIIMS institutes in the MCC provisional result.

This includes:

• 2,237 standard category allotments
• 113 PwD-linked allotments

This means the last standard-category AIIMS MBBS allotment observed in Round 1 was approximately:

• Open: 3,421
• OBC: 4,281
• EWS: 5,416
• SC: 27,539
• ST: 44,940

Standard category seats only; PwD kept separate.

AIIMS Delhi: What should students understand?

AIIMS New Delhi closed at approximately:

• Open: 52
• OBC: 192
• EWS: 292
• SC: 793
• ST: 987

Students outside these Round 1 ranges should not interpret the overall “AIIMS cutoff” of AIR 3,421 as the AIIMS Delhi cutoff.

Every AIIMS campus has a different demand pattern.

3. PwD MBBS Range — Keep Separate

PwD is horizontal reservation and therefore must not be mixed with ordinary category closing ranks.

Government AIQ PwD-Linked Allotments

Students should use the appropriate PwD roster/category, not the normal Open/OBC/EWS/SC/ST cutoff table.

4. Deemed University MBBS — Round 1 Analysis

This is where the Round 1 result becomes very interesting.

The MCC provisional result contains 11,627 MBBS allotments under Self-Financed Merit seats.

Deemed Self-Financed Merit Range

• Allotments: 11,627
• Opening AIR: 267
• Closing AIR: 11,94,233

Important category rule

There is no OBC/SC/ST/EWS/PwD reservation in ordinary Deemed University merit seats under the MCC scheme.

Therefore these seats appear as Open seats, irrespective of whether the candidate personally belongs to General, OBC, SC, ST or EWS.

So for Deemed Universities:

Your personal category normally does not create a separate reserved merit cutoff for the standard Self-Financed Merit seat.

The major factors are:

1. NEET AIR
2. Choice preference
3. Available seats
4. College demand
5. Fee affordability
6. NRI/minority eligibility where applicable

Popular Deemed Universities — Round 1 Merit Closing AIR

This clearly shows why one common “Deemed University cutoff” is not useful.

KMC Manipal closed at roughly 42.8K, while some other Deemed colleges went beyond 10 lakh AIR.

Deemed Colleges Reaching Very High AIRs

Some lower-demand/high-fee Deemed options extended very deep into the merit list.

Examples from the provisional result include:

• Meenakshi Medical College — around 9.92 lakh
• Sree Balaji Medical College — around 9.97 lakh
• Bharath Medical College — beyond 11.6 lakh
• Sri Lakshmi Narayana Institute — beyond 11.8 lakh

⚠️ A higher closing AIR does not mean the college is automatically a better opportunity.

5. Deemed NRI & Minority Quota Analysis

HGE found 254 MBBS allotments under the MCC Non-Resident Indian quota.

After separating 5 AMU NRI allotments, 249 NRI allotments mapped to Deemed University institutes.

Deemed NRI

• Allotments analysed: 249
• Opening AIR: 4,161
• Closing AIR: 9,94,983

NRI candidates must separately satisfy MCC's NRI eligibility/document conditions.

Muslim Minority

140 MBBS allotments

Overall range:

AIR 38,216 → 3,92,303

Breakdown:

• Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences: 75 allotments, closing around 1,03,937
• Yenepoya Medical College: 65 allotments, closing around 3,92,303

Jain Minority

78 MBBS allotments

All identified at SBKS Medical Institute & Research Centre, Vadodara.

Range:

AIR 1,45,217 → 10,40,306

6. BDS Round 1 — Separate Analysis

BDS should not be mixed with MBBS because the demand and closing AIRs are very different.

The provisional result contains 3,967 BDS allotments.

Government AIQ BDS — Standard Categories

There were also 18 PwD-linked AIQ BDS allotments, which should be analysed separately.

Deemed BDS

Self-Financed Merit:

• 3,128 allotments
• AIR range: 12,816 → 11,02,848

NRI BDS:

• 21 allotments
• AIR range: 4,87,727 → 9,90,679

7. I Got a Seat — Should I Freeze or Try for Upgrade?

This year MCC has introduced an important Freeze / Float system.

FREEZE — Keep Current Seat, No Upgrade

Choose Freeze when:

• You are satisfied with the allotted college
• You do not want Round 2 upgradation

Freeze candidates must complete the required document upload and physically report to the allotted institute for joining/admission.

FLOAT — Keep Seat & Try for Upgrade

Choose Float when:

• You want to retain the present seat for now
• But you want to try for a higher-preference college in Round 2

Float candidates:

• Give willingness for upgradation online
• Upload mandatory documents
• Have documents verified online by the allotted institute
• Do not need to physically report to the allotted institute for Round 1 merely for upgradation

If documents are found valid, the candidate gets provisional seat confirmation and remains eligible for the next round.

Very Important

If you participate in the next round and do not receive an upgrade, your earlier seat is retained.

If you do receive an upgraded seat, your earlier seat is automatically cancelled.

Therefore:

In Round 2, fill only colleges/seats that you genuinely prefer over your current allotted seat.

Do not put a lower-preference college above your current seat simply because you think you must fill many choices.

8. No Seat in Round 1 — What Should You Do?

Do not panic.

A Round 1 “Not Allotted” result does not end your counselling.

Round 2 vacancies can arise because of:

• Candidates choosing Free Exit
• Candidates shifting between MCC and State counselling
• Candidates surrendering seats
• Upgradation
• Newly added seats
• Corrected seat matrices
• NRI/minority vacancies
• Choice preference changes

If you were registered but did not receive a Round 1 seat, you can participate in the next round as per MCC eligibility rules.

9. How to Judge Your Round 2 Chances

Use your specific college + quota + allotted category cutoff, not only the overall cutoff.

Example

Suppose:

• Your category is OBC
• Your AIR is 4,000
• You want an AIIMS

The overall AIIMS OBC Round 1 closing AIR is around 4,281.

That means your AIR falls inside the observed overall AIIMS OBC Round 1 range.

But it does not mean every AIIMS is available.

For example:

• AIIMS Delhi OBC closed around 192
• AIIMS Jodhpur around 714
• AIIMS Bhopal around 1,084
• AIIMS Kalyani around 3,049
• AIIMS Madurai around 4,281

Your strategy should therefore be college-specific.

These are HGE planning bands — not MCC rules and not guarantees.

AIR Better Than Round 1 Closing Rank

Keep that college high in your Round 2 choices if you genuinely prefer it.

Your rank has already been observed within the Round 1 allotment range, although availability still depends on vacancies and choice order.

AIR Just Outside the Round 1 Closing Rank

Keep the choice.

Small movement is possible when candidates upgrade, resign or shift to State counselling.

AIR Significantly Outside the Round 1 Range

Do not rely on one dream college.

Build choices in layers:

1. Upgrade Targets
2. Realistic Colleges
3. Current-seat-equivalent choices
4. Backup colleges
5. Budget-compatible Deemed/NRI options if relevant

• This result is provisional
• It is indicative and subject to change
• Candidates cannot claim a right over the provisional allotment
• Candidates should approach the allotted institute only after Final Result declaration

The discrepancy submission window was available only up to 3:59 PM on 21 August 2026.

At the time of HGE verification, the Final Result had not yet replaced the provisional result on the MCC Current Events page.

Reporting / Joining Schedule

As per MCC's latest revised Round 1 schedule:

Result date: 21 August 2026 Reporting / Joining: 22 August to 31 August 2026

Students should wait for the Final Result before acting on the provisional allotment.

1. Check your AIR in the provisional allotment result.
2. Verify college, course, quota and allotted category.
3. Wait for MCC Final Result before approaching the college.
4. Compare your allotted college with higher choices.
5. Decide carefully between Freeze and Float.
6. If choosing Float, prepare a smarter Round 2 choice list.
7. Check fees and total payable amount before considering Deemed colleges.
8. Never compare a PwD, NRI or minority cutoff with an ordinary Open/OBC/EWS/SC/ST cutoff.
9. Continue State counselling simultaneously where eligible.
