🚨 Important MCC Round 1 schedule change

MCC has postponed the start of NEET UG 2026 Round 1 choice filling.

Old start date: 6 August 2026

New start date and time: 8 August 2026 by 12:00 Noon

The Medical Counselling Committee has issued an official notice dated 6 August 2026 revising the Round 1 choice-filling start date.

Candidates should not worry if the choice-filling link is not available before the revised time.

What Has Changed?

Hire Guide Education must remove the old statement that MCC choice filling started on 6 August.

The official notice changes the starting date only. MCC has not announced a revised closing date or revised choice-locking period in this notice.

Why Has MCC Postponed Choice Filling?

MCC has stated that the change is due to an NMC notification concerning PwBD candidates, issued on 5 August 2026.

Candidates should follow the revised MCC notice and continue checking the official portal for any further schedule changes.

Courses Covered

This notice affects MCC Round 1 counselling for applicable:

• MBBS
• BDS

MCC’s common UG schedule also includes B.Sc. Nursing, but Hire Guide Education must continue tracking Nursing in its separate counselling section.

Counselling Routes Affected

The revised choice-filling start applies to Round 1 participation under MCC-administered routes, including applicable:

• 15% All India Quota MBBS/BDS seats
• AIIMS MBBS seats
• JIPMER Puducherry and Karaikal seats
• Central University and Central Institute seats
• Deemed University seats
• Deemed University NRI seats
• ESIC seats
• AFMC-related MCC process
• Institutional and internal quotas handled by MCC
• Other participating MCC quotas

Registration Is Still Open

The previously published MCC Round 1 schedule provides:

• Registration closes: 12 August 2026 at 3:00 PM
• Payment facility closes: 12 August 2026 at 6:00 PM

This new notice does not extend the registration or payment deadline.

Candidates who have not registered should complete registration and payment early.

Revised Choice-Filling Position

Choice filling will now begin:

8 August 2026 by 12:00 Noon

According to the existing MCC Round 1 schedule:

• Choice filling is scheduled to close on 13 August 2026 at 11:00 AM
• Choice locking is scheduled from 12 August 2026 at 4:00 PM
• Choice locking is scheduled to close on 13 August 2026 at 11:00 AM

These closing dates remain based on the existing MCC schedule because the new notice changes only the choice-filling start date.

Candidates must continue monitoring MCC in case a further revised schedule is published.

What Candidates Should Do Now

1. Complete MCC registration if still pending.
2. Complete the required payment.
3. Download the latest tentative seat matrix.
4. Check college fees, bonds and eligibility.
5. Prepare a draft college preference list.
6. Separate AIQ, AIIMS, Central, ESIC, Deemed and NRI choices.
7. Log in again after 12:00 Noon on 8 August.
8. Submit sufficient choices well before the closing deadline.
9. Recheck the MCC website before final choice locking.
10. Save a copy or screenshot of submitted choices.

• Correct MCC institute code
• Course: MBBS or BDS
• Exact quota name
• Category eligibility
• PwBD eligibility, where applicable
• Deemed University tuition fee
• NRI seat eligibility and fees
• ESIC IP Ward eligibility
• Service bond
• Discontinuation penalty
• Hostel and other charges
• Previous-year closing rank
• Willingness to join the college

Do not arrange choices only according to the probability of allotment.

Your choice order should show your actual preference from the most preferred college to the least preferred acceptable option.

• Assuming choice filling started on 6 August
• Repeatedly trying an inactive choice-filling link
• Missing registration while waiting for choice filling
• Treating the postponement as an extension of registration
• Waiting until the last hours to fill choices
• Adding Deemed or NRI seats without checking fees
