CGDME has already published the Round 1 MBBS/BDS Seat Matrix, counselling schedule and online application notice.

Important Portal Status

At HGE's latest verification on the morning of 9 August 2026, the official Chhattisgarh counselling portal was still displaying:

“CG NEET UG Counselling Round-1 is going to start soon.”

Therefore:

⚠️ The official schedule starts today, but candidates should wait for the candidate registration service to become active on the official NIC portal.

The official schedule does not specify a clock time for the registration or choice-filling closing dates.

MBBS/BDS Seat Matrix Released

CGDME has published the official:

NEET UG 2026 Medical & Dental Round 1 Seat Matrix

The matrix provides college-wise and category-wise seat distribution for participating Medical and Dental colleges.

It includes applicable State reservation categories such as:

• UR
• ST
• ST Special
• SC
• OBC
• EWS
• Female horizontal reservation
• PwD
• Freedom Fighter
• Sainik
• Other applicable State claims

New Government Medical Colleges

The 2026 seat matrix also includes the newly established Government Medical Colleges appearing in the current counselling matrix, including colleges such as:

• Government Medical College, Manendragarh
• Government Medical College, Jashpur-Kunkuri
• Government Medical College, Kabirdham
• Government Medical College, Janjgir-Champa

Candidates should use the 2026 matrix, not only previous-year seat data, while preparing preferences.

What Candidates Should Do Today

1. Open the official Chhattisgarh Medical Counselling portal.
2. Check whether New Registration / Candidate Login has become active.
3. Read the 2026 Online Application Notice.
4. Review the Round 1 MBBS/BDS seat matrix.
5. Keep NEET UG 2026 details and documents ready.
6. Complete registration once the official service activates.
7. Pay the applicable counselling fee.
8. Prepare MBBS/BDS preferences.
9. Complete choice filling before 17 August.
10. Save registration, payment and choice-filling proof.

Important — Registration and Choice Filling Have Different Closing Dates

Do not confuse these two deadlines:

Registration / Fee Payment: until 16 August

Choice Filling / Locking: until 17 August

Registration closes before choice filling.

NRI Candidates

CGDME has separately published an official notice for candidates claiming NRI eligibility.

NRI candidates should follow the additional document/eligibility process separately and should not assume ordinary State registration alone validates the NRI claim.
